Because so many folks just want to know their options and be informed so they can make better decisions, I offer a “Free Consultation” on all bankruptcy cases. My staff is often asked, “What Does a Free Consultation Mean?” It means just what it says.
I set aside up to one full hour to meet with you and review your current financial situation. I’ll explain the options available to you to help in getting you debt relief. We’ll discuss filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Usually during this visit based upon the information you provide, I can make a recommendation as to what is the best course of action for you and your family. I’ve been filing bankruptcy for people in Knoxville, Sevierville, Maryville and Jefferson City for over 25 years, so I don’t see many surprises.
The appointment is completely free. Since the appointment is free, I must ask that it be limited to no more than one hour. As a result you can make the best use of that time by doing the following:
1. Sit down and look at your check book for the last 90 days and list every disbursement for living expenses and for payment of debt. I recommend setting up three columns on a sheet of paper (or in an excel spreadsheet) to help with this. What we are trying to determine is what your actual living expenses are.
2. Create a list of all of your debts including approximate balances. The balances don’t have to be exact, but it helps if you know what you owe.
3. If you are married, get the registration for your vehicles. It’s important to know whether they are owned solely by the husband, the wife, or perhaps both.
4. Get a clear picture of your income for the last 6 months. If you are an employee this is easy. For self-employed people it’s harder, but still possible. It’s absolutely necessary that we have a clear picture of your income. If only one spouse is going to file bankruptcy (because the other spouse isn’t on all the credit card debt) we still need to know the income and expenses for both.
Again, this is a “Free Consultation” that is actually “Free.” Call 865-246-1050 to schedule your appointment today. “Take Experience to Court With You.”
